EASTER SERVICES

GREYMOUTH CHURCHES GOOD CONGREGATIONS Good congregations have attended the special Easter services held in all Greymouth churches. At Holy Trinity Church there were three celebrations of Holy Communion 'on Holy Thursday and large numbers attended the threehour meditation service yesterday, when the Seven Words of the Cross were considered. The officiating clergy were the Rev. P. Kirkham and the Rev. E. O. Harding. There will be services to-morrow at 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.

A special Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church on the morning of Holy Thursday and during the night members of the Holy Name Society gathered for the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Yesterday morning the Mass of the Pre-sancti-fied was celebrated, followed in the afternoon by the Way of the Cross. This morning the ceremonies of the blessing of the fire, the font and the Pascal candle were followed by the Mass of Easter Eve. High Mass will be celebrated to-morrow morning at 10 o’clock, and at 7 p.m. Solemn Benediction will be held. The Rev. T. G. Campbell conducted a service of intercession at St. John’s Presbyterian Church at 9 a.m. yesterday, and the Rev. J. Silvester, the newly-inducted Methodist minister, held a special service at St. Paul’s at 8 a.m. yesterday.
