Cue Engaged at Victoria Park

Good Form at Reef ton

Meeting

The Lusty Volo gelding, Cue, had only.two starts at the recent Reefton meeting and he recorded a win and a second, after showing considerable speed and stamina. His next start will be at Victoria Park on Monday when he is engaged in the Eclipse Handicap of 102 furlongs off the front, and in the Easter Handicap of two miles off 12 yards.

. D. Bennett has Cue in first class order. He should race prominently in whichever race is chosen for him. He did not begin very smartly in either of his starts at Reefton, but he showed some staying ability in winning so he might be started in the two-mile event in preference to the sprint. It is against Cue’s chances that his displays at Reefton were the first glimpses of form he had shown in a number of starts since winning at Omoto in January.

St. Mary’s Chances’: The Wrack mare, St. Mary will be one of the better fancied candidates in the trotting events at the GreyWestland meeting at Victoria Park on Monday. This season she has started' only six times for three wins, a second and a fourth, and she has shown that she can handle the Greymouth track well. She has had a good spell and in the hands of W. R. L. Pascoe should get her share of the stake money on Monday.

Promising Trotter: Belle Header, the promising Maxegin trotter owned by Mr. W. T. Lowe, has had only eight starts and she has raced consistently for a win, a second, a third and two fourths, her last start producing a fourth behind .Sure Note, Tolerate and Beethoven at the Kaikoura meeting. She started on hetwinning way at Greymouth and will have many friends on Monday.
