[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT?.] REEFTON, October 4.' Mrs, C. McElwee presided at a meeting of the Reefton Branch of the Plunket Society. A donation of £lO was received from the Inangahua Country Council. discussed at the adjourned monthly meeting of the Inangahua County Council. A resolution was moved by Cr. Blackadder and seconded by Cr. G. Williams, that a letter be written to the Government pointing out that the Council considers that monies for the upkeep and building of hospitals should be raised by other means than that of a levy on rates.—Carried.. j A new block of rooms for the infant department of the Reefton Disstrict High School has been under j construction for some time, and is ! nearing completion. Only finishing|off -work and the provision of desks t and equipment, are now required. The buildings are detached from the main 1 school block area and include a sun porch. I Miss R. Ellery.
