: COBDEN CLUB MEETING j| The annual meeting of the Cobden | Bowling Club was held in the club’s pavilion on Sunday. The President (Mr A. T. Bennett) was in the chair, j His report stated that visits had been | made to Greymouth, Runanga and | Karoro clubs during the year, and | that three pairs and two rinks from Cobden had competed in the West Coast Tournament, one rink also having attended the Nelson Tournament. During the past few months the green had been surveyed and relevelled, all bare areas have been chipped and re-sown and Autumn topdressing applied. The green is expected to be in excellent playing condition on opening day. A report was also received from (Mr E. J. Robb, Cobden delegate to the West Coast Bowling Centre. The Club’s challenge trophies were won by T. A. Gilmour (Smith Buttons) and F. E. Smith (Baillie trophy). The election of officers resulted: — Patron, J. S. Nimmo (re-elected); I president, A. T.
