HOKITIKA NOTES
[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HOKITIKA, July 23. The capacity of All Saints Church was severely taxed last evening for the farewell service of the Rev. H. Childs. Members of the local Masonic Lodges were present. Following the service a farewell social was tended Rev. and Mrs. Childs in All Saints Hall. Several speakers, meluding ministers- of other churches spoke eulogistically of the work of Mr. and Mrs. Childs during their five years in Hokitika, and presentations were made on behalf of the Koiterangi parishioners by Mr. F. Wall, and on behalf of the Parish by Mr. D. Thomas, the presentation taking, the form of an envelope and wallet of notes ■ respectively. Mr.- Childs suitably replied. - Work on the boat sheds at Lake Mahinapua for the Mahinapua Aquatic Club is well on the way with volunteer labour. Patrons of yachting and quatic sports should be well catered for with both Lake Kamen and Lake Mahinapua providing facilities.
