BOXING

The professional boxing contest between Norman Ross, Greymouth, and Jack McCann, which was to have taken place at Dunedin this evening, has been cancelled. It is understood that McCann had already agreed to fight Ray Stevens under the Auckland Association on May 21, before the match with Ross was arranged and that the Auckland Association refused to allow McCann to continue his engagement with Ross. Ross will now meet Stevens at Dunedin on June 4. It is expected that several West Coast amateurs will fight on the same programme, possibly Boddy, Hamilton, Porter, and Bowman. • GREY~CYCLING.
