Light drizzle early in the day developed into a steady downpour as the afternoon progressed, and the grounds and course became sloppy. The attendance was seriously affected. The sum of £20,684/10/- was handled, compared with £32,433/10/at the last Winter meeting held in 1943, when the club had one of the most successful meetings in its history.
