REEFTON, November 2
At the Magistrate’s Court before Mr. G. G. Chisholm S.M., Philip Hyla Williams pleaded guilty to three charges of indecent assault on females under 16 years of age. Defendant was committed to the Supreme Court at Christchurch for sentence. William lan McPherson for driving a motor cycle on Buller Road, Reefton, without exercising due care and attention was fined £2 and costs 10/-. He pleadnot guilty. For being found on licensed premises at Waiuta after hours four defendants were each fined 10/and costs 11/11. For a similar offence Matthew Bell was fined £l/10/-, Albert Jones £1 and Eugene Mangan was fined £l/10/- costs being 11/11 in all cases. On a judgment summons C M. Mathison was ordered to pay to Wililam Hopley the sum of £23 3/6 with- costs £l/11/6 at the rate of £3 per month. Rain fell on 21 days during October at Reef ton, with a total fall of 8.75 inches and a maximum fall of 1.4 inches on the 28th instant. .
