Mr. and Mrs. J. Lewis will leave to-morrow for Christchurch.

The condition of Mr. Robert Gomer Hall, who was admitted to the Grey Hospital on Sunday afternoon with serious head inquries was reported today to be satisfactory.

Miss A. Ryan, Postmistress at Moana, has resigned in view of her approaching marriage, and has been succeeded by Miss I. Vallance, who commenced duty to-day.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Honorah Lowry, of Reefton,, took place at the Karoro Cemetery yesterday afternoon, being largely attended. Father D. Nolan conducted Requiem Mass at Reefton, and a short service at St. Patrick’s Church, Greymouth. He also conducted the service at the graveside, where he was assisted by Father J. J. Long and Father W. O’Mahoney (Ahaura).

The marriage of Mr. G. F. Sim, Member of Parliament for Rotorua, to Miss Gertrude Wynyard, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. W ynvard, of Te Awamutu, took place at Te Awamutu yesterday. The wedding was quiet, and only immediate relafives of the bride and bridegroom were present. Mr. Sim, who is a son of Mr. J. B. Sim, of Pukekohe, -was elected Member for Rotorua at the General Elections last year. He served with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force in the Middle East, and was seriously wounded in the desert fighting in North Africa, losing an arm and suffering other wounds.
