The following is the district forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, to-day:— Situation: An anti-cyclonic belt lies to the north-east and a depression off Southland is moving south-east. Forecast to 5 p.m. Thursday: Moderate variable winds, with northerly directions predominating. WeatherCloudy, with occasional rain or drizzle.' Temperatures moderate. Further outlook: Occasional rain.
