RUGBY, Jan. 19. A White Paper for a vote of credit for £1,000,009,000 sterling for 1944 in respect of expenditure arising out of the war, was issued on Wednesday afternoon and will come before the House of Commons in the course ot the next series of sittings. This is an estimate of the amount required to be voted towards defraying expenses which may be incurred until March 31, 1944, for general Navy, Army, and Air Services’ supplies, in so far as specific provision has not been made for them by Parliament. A second White Papei’ was also issued in respect of further supplementary votes for £750,000,000 to defray expenses arising out of the war which may also be incurred to March 31. This represents further provision required to meet the estimate of national expenditure at £900,000,000, offset by the estimated net receipts of £150,000,000 arising during the year on certain trading and other services.
