GREYMOUTH MATCHES \ Perfect weather prevailed for the continuation of the West Coast Cricket Association’s competitions during the week-end. In the Saturday competition. Cobden and United were successful, while yesterday, United secured a three-point win, and Marist Old Boys and Runanga played a draw. There was some excellent cricket at the Recreation Ground on Saturday when Cobden defeated Marist High School on the first innings. School batted first and scored 174 (R. O Callaghan 92, Morris 25, C. Mcßride 20. Knapp lour for 34, Dewar two for four, and Guy two for 11. Cobden were left with an hour and a-half to get the runs, and they played forceful cricket to win the match in a few minutes over the hour, while they had 213 runs on the board when stumps were drawn. Good contributions were made by Pope 65 retired, Knapp 53, Lee 38, D. Dewar.not out 31, and De Freatus 10. Kelly one for none, and Beban one for eight were the most successful of the Marist bowlers. YESTERDAY’S GAMES On the Recreation Ground yesterday afternoon, United secured a three point win over Marist High School by 10 wickets.
