SPORTS EVENTS. At a meeting convened by the West Coast A. and P. Association and the Greymouth Patriotic Committee in the Borough Council Chambers last evening, Mr G. G. M. Mitchell presided over an attendance of the following:—Messrs F. W. Baillie, A. Sheldon, O. McLean, I. Steel, E. Airey,- Smellie, R. Marshall, A. H. McKane and C. F. Shapcott. , The meeting was called to discuss the sports programme for Show Day, February 15. It was decided that a procession from the Main School to Victoria Park be held; and it was also resolved that a comprehensive programme of sports be conducted, including amateur athletics, cycling, . Highland dancing, claybird shooting, schools’ relay races, children’s events, whippet racing, and horse events. It was further resolved that a mannequin parade be organised. Sub-committees were set up to prepare programmes of events in the different sections, for submission to the A. and P. Association Committee. It was reported to the meeting that a swimming carnival for patriotic funds, would be held in the’Municipal Bath on the evening of the Show.
