BOWLING
MOSS AND KYLE DO WELL. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, January 15. Although the heavy rain of the previous afternoon deadened all of the greens, sunshine and a good breeze dried them out during to-day, arid while not keen, they were running freely for the second game of the day in the New Zealand Fours’ Bowls Championship. The abandonment of play on Tuesday afternoon left tag ends of games to be played on practically every green this morning, necessitating, the shortening of the fifth game to 21 ends. At the conclusion of play in the sixth game, 15 fours had won all of their games, and thus had qualified. Eighteen teams had five wins, and to qualify they must win one of the two games set down for Thursday. Of the fifteen fours who have qualified two are skipped by men who have each won the Fours Championship twice, namely, H. Wilson (Linwood), and R. Haworth (Canterbury). F. H. Gibson played third,'for Wilson at Dunedin in 1934, and lie again occupies that position. R. Haworth, has entirely a new combination, with his son, C. A. Haworth (Wanganui) at second.
