McCready defeats corbett.

CHRISTCHURCH, June 12. Although the professional wrestling match between Earl McCready, of Canada, and Joe Corbett, of Boston, at the Theatre Royal this evening went short on elbow jolts, flying tackles, and drop-kicks, the crowd thoroughly enjoyed one, of the best exhibitions of fast and scientific wrestling for a longtime. McCready took the only fall, in the seventh round. McCready was announced as 17st. 21b., and Corbett was four pounds lighter.

O’CONNOR AND RAINES DRAW*

WANGANUI, June 12.

In a hard and willing, wrestlingmatch, Dan O’Connor drew with Dick Raines to-night. The score was one fall each. O’Connor registered the first fall in round six, and Raines gained an equalising fall in round eight.
