CANADIANS IN LONDON

RUGBY, April 15

Detachments of the First Canadian Division will march through London, to-morrow and Saturday when the Royal Twenty-second French-Canadian and the Toronto Scottish will arrive to take over for a short period the guard duties at the Royal Palaces. Apart from guard duties, the Canadians will furnish a sergeant from each unit, to serve as orderlies to the King, and two others from each regiment will be detailed as cyclists to the King.

Mr. Chamberlain is expected to make a full statement on the recent war developments, in the Commons, to-morrow.

LOYALTY IN CYPRUS.

“The Times,” in an editorial on tho effects of the war in Cyprus, says the people of the island, whether Greeks or Turks, have shown enthusiastic loyalty to Britain. Two volunteer transport units are already serving overseas. Before February 18, when the King approved th© formation of the Cyprus Regiment, six thousand men had volunteered for service. The number of volunteers is understood to have been nearly doubled since. This is a remarkable record for a population of at most 350,000 souls.
