LAST EVENING’S RESULTS.

The weekly meeting of the Greymouth Amateur Athletic Club was held at Victoria Park last evening in dull weather. The track was in good order and the times showed considerable improvement. The best performance of the evening was that of E. McNaughton, in the 440 yards event. The results were: —

100 Yards Senior Men’s Handicap: G. Kennedy (4yds) l 1; E. McNaughton (scr.) 2: L. Wilson (scr.) 3. Time 10 2-ssecs. Won by one yard; same. 100 Yards Women’s Handicap:—D. Tunnell (Syds) 1; N. McGirr (Iyd) 2; L. McGirr (6yds) 3. Time 12 l-ssecs. Won by one yard; half a yard. 440 Yards Senior Men’s Handicap: E. McNaughton (scr.) 1; G. Kennedy (15yds.) 2; S. McDonnell (scr.) 3. Time 52 2-5. Won by five yards; same. Mixed Relay, 440 yards.—W. Mann’s team 1; L. Wilson’s team 2. Time 48 2-ssecs.

COMMITTEE MEETING

At a meeting of the Committee, at which Mr T. P. Ryan presided, advice was received from the Westport Club that they were unable to obtain a ground for the meeting at Westport on January 21, but would be represented with a large team at the meeting to be held in Greyniouth on January 28. It was decided to write* to the Westport Club and suggest a visit at a suitable date after the Maher Cup contest.

The Secretary (Mr E. B. E. Taylor) reported that good progress had been made in connection with the meeting with Canterbury and Buller at Greymouth mi. January 28. and stated that about Go visiting athletes would compete.
