GERMANS HEAD LIST

CANBERRA, January 13

The influx of refugees from Germany is still increasing steadily. In November the net gain in population by the arrival of migrants classified as Germans exceeded for the first lime mi record Hie gain by migration from any other nations.

In November the refugee movement increased the Gorman population of Australia by 291 persons. For the 12 months ended November 30 there was a net increase in Australia’s German population, of 1,435 persons. Now that the Commonwealth Government. has agreed to admit 15,000 refugees in the next three years it is expected that the rate of increase will continue to rise steadily. Migration movements in November remitted in a net total population increase of 880 persons. Only 21 persons iti this number were of British stock.

For the 12 months ended November 3o there was a. net population increase by migration of 7.861 persons, but the whole of this was due to foreign migration. Actually (here was a. loss of British slock in that period of 517 persons.
