HEAVY RAIN AT CH.CH. COUNCIL MEETING [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 21. Heavy overnight rain caused anothed postponement of the inter-Dominion trots. The second day’s events are now set down for to-morrow, and no arrangements have been made for the remaining two days. Delegates to the inter-Domnuon Trotting Council decided to allot the next championships to the Northern Tasmanian Trotting Association, provided that State is prepared to offer at least £7,000 in stakes for a fourday meeting. In the event of the Northern Tasmanian Trotting Association not being able to comply with the conditions, the West Australian Trotting Association will be asked to conduct the meetings. In the case of all future championships, it was agreed that the total stakes for four days, must be at least £B,OOO, but with a view to assisting trotting in Tasmania, the amount was reduced to £7,000, for the 1939 meeting, if it is held by that State. A recommendation that the States should consider the inclusion, in their championship programmes, of a three-year-old classic race, with sufficient stake to encourage representative entries, was carriedThe question of the allotting of points for championship events was discussed, and it was decided to recomend that, in future, points should be awarded for all events, including the Grand Final.
