BRIDE IN TROUBLE
£250 IN DUTY AND FINES. NEW YORK. March 1. Miss Jeanette McKelvie, of Kansas City, who is to he married' here this month to Mr George Lutley Sclater Booth, heir to Lord Basing, had trouble over her trousseau with the Customs officials on the pier when she landed this 1 morning. The officials made her strew; her wardrobe about the pier, as l they scrutinised items which they claimed she had failed to declare. Finally a, messenger was- sent to a New York hotel to cash a cheque for £250 assessed in duty and fines.
