HOKITIKA NOTES
[OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT, j HOKITIKA, February 26. The funeral of the • late George Small took place yesterday afternoon, there being a large attendance, notwithstanding heavy rain. Besides a large number of the Masonic Fraternity, the staff of the Westland Hospital was also present. The service at the Presbyterian Church was conducted by Rev. Murray Feist, and Wor. Bro. H. Lawn (Chaplain). They also conducted the service at the graveside. Many beautiful floral tributes were sent by friends.
Some 70 telephones were put out of action by the recent electrical storm and several radios were also damaged. One house (that of Mr. S. Ferris), was damaged by the lightning.
