BOWLS.

BRISBANE, August 7.

The New Zealand bowlers have returned after a three weeks’ tour in the country. Parker stated that there was a likelihood of four or five rinks of Queensland bowlers visiting New Zealand in tjae new year, possibly including an official Queensland rink. The New Zealand party will leave Brisbane on Sunday and Sydney on August 19.

BOXING.

HASTINGS, August 7.

Clarrie Rayner (Blenheim) 9.6 beat Bobby Delaney (Sydney) 9.6 on points. The bopt went the full distance of 15 rounds. Rayner, clearly the cleverer man, administered heavy punishment and won practically every round. The Australian put up a wonderfully plucky showing. The annual meeting of the CobdenGrey Whippet Club was held on Thursday evening, Mr. W. Kells presiding over a good attendance. The annual report, and the balance sheet, showing a credit balance of £2, were read and adopted. The election of officers resulted: Patrons, Hon. P. C. Webb, M.P., Messrs. J. O’Brien, M.P., A. H.
