MOTORIST’S BROKEN NECK. [PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] BLENHEIM, June 5. At the inquest on Arthur Sydney Philpott, of Christchurch, a verdict was returned of accidental death, through the car plunging over a bank in thick weather. Medical evidence showed that Philpott sustained a broken neck, and death was instantaneous. RABBITER SHOT. HAMILTON, June 4. A tragic discovery was made by John Mills, of Hamilton, yesterday, when looking for his companion, Gerard Daniel Heinemann, aged 23, of Hamilton East. The pair were engaged shooting rabbits in Leslie’s Gully, Hamilton East, and were separated for some time. Later, Mills went to look for his friend, and found him lying near a fence, with a shot Wound in the region of his heart. Heinemann’s pea-rifle was found standing against the fence. A doctor was summoned, and pro-; nounced life extinct. An inquest was* opened and adjourned after identification.

SHOT BY DOG. DARGAVILLE, June 5. Bruce Mitchell, post office employee, aged about 19, suffered somewhat severe injuries while on a shooting expedition at Awakino Point yesterday, in company with three other youths. The party had laid guns, which were loaded, on a log. when it is surmised a dog jumped over the log and touched the trigger of a gun, which discharged Mitchell receiving most of the charge in the hip. Luckily, his cartridge belt saved him to a certain extent. He was rushed to Tekopouru hospital. His condition to-day was not serious. ; KAYE DON COMMITTED. (Reed. June 5, 1 p.m.) LONDON. June 4. As a sequel to the accident on May 29, Kaye Don was committed for trial at the Isle of Man. on a charge of i manslaughter, after the inquest on his j mechanic. Taylor.
