WAGE-CUT RESTORATION

CONCILIATION COUNCIL RUMOUR. [per press association.] WELLINGTON, December 20. An agreement was reached in the Conciliation Council, in the electrical workers’ dispute. The wages are 1/11 foi- journeymen electricians. A new rate was decided for radio service men of 1/9 an hour. The improvers’ rate was increased to 1/5 an hour. The award 1 comes into force on January 3, and operates for a year. A clause was inserted providing that if any general order of the Court was made, it should apply to.the rates of wages in the award. There was some talk during the discussions that it was rumoured there was a chance of the Court restoring the 10 per cent, cut.
