CALCUTTA, August 9. Professor N. Banerji, a former prom-

inent member of Congress, and a Left Winger, has resigned the professorship of Calcutta College, in order to devote his undivided energy to the constructive public service of his country’s cause. He was recently released from seven months in gaol for disobedience and illegal activities.
