ROTORUA, October 14.
As a result of severe scalds suffered by falling into a hot pool at Whakarewarewa, this afternoon, a four-year-old Maori child, Alee Eparaina, was admitted to the hospital in a serious condition. The boy who was one of a party of children playing on a track in the vicinity of the spout bath, apparently ran off to hide from his companions and stumbled into the water. His screams attracted attention and brought his aunt from a nearby house, and with the assistance of several helpers she succeeded in.dragging the child from the pool, but by this time he was severely scalded and was reported to bo. in a dangerous condition when admitted to the hospital.
