' Mr Gandhi, in his loin cloth and shawl, was among four hundred guests including the members of the Indian Round Table Conference, at Buckingham Palace. Their Majesties shook hands witMdhe visitors ,at the head of a great crimson-carpeted staircase, and later moved to the flower-decked state rooms, conversing with the guests. They chatted for several minutes with Mr Gandhi. JEWELLERY STOLEN • LONDON, November 5. A thief entered the rooms of Maharadhia Raja in the Savoy Hotel and secured £lO,OOO worth of jewellery. The Maharaja is a delegate to the Indian Round Table Conference. FLOOD VICTIMS. CALCUTTA, November 6. Flood waters are rising in the South of India, owing to the heavy phenomenally late monsoons. It is estimated that 200 persons have been drowned in the past three weeks.
