Threats by the Seamen’s Union that those who, in defiance of the Union, manned the vessels last week and ensfbled the strike to be broken, would be disciplined, have brought a reply 'from the shipowners that these men would continue to be engaged while their work was satisfactory. PAPUAN MASSACRE. CANBERRA, Novembex- 6. The Lieutenant Governor of Papua has sent a radio message to the Prime Minister, Mr - Scullin, reporting that a massacre -had been carried out by natives in the Fly River district, the cause of which is being investigated by the Resident Magistrate, Mr Wood- ; ward, who declares that the Fly River ' Natives are treacherous headhunters, . and that probably they are short of tobacco and other articles.
