FORBIDDEN BY LAW. NEWTON ABfeOT (Devon), Sept. 14. Yesterday a Seaton magistrate, Mr. W. Newton, was surprised to receive a visit from three students who asked him for a signed permit to take their boat to sea on a Sunday. They informed the bewildered J.P. that the permit was necessary under the Sunday Observance Act of Charles H. Mr. Newton consulted the clerk to the local Urban Council on the matter, and afterwards issued a permit to the youths.
