COURSING.
A meeting of the Ikamatua and West Coast Coursing Club was held last evening, when Mr. G. B. Mclnroe presided over a good attendance. A letter from the New Zealand Coursing Association, re First Sight, staed that the owner of the dog run in that name at Hawera was notified that he would have to change the dog’s name. . . Several new members were nomlnated. It was resolved to extend the date of nominations till to-night, as all the nominations have not yet been receivMr. J. O. Byrne was appointed a vice-president of the club. GOLF. The Hokitika v. Greymouth “B” grade match has been postponed. The following alterations have been made in the draw for Saturday’s club match: — Curran v. McKay. Warnes v. Millar. Thorpy v. Parkinson.
CYCLING. [per press association.] WELLINGTON, June 26. The rift in the cycling world has broken out in a new place. The Port Nicholson Club, affiliated with N.Z.A.Q., recently announced that it would take charge of the annual road race from Palmerston North to Wellington. This is contradicted by the President of Wellington centre of the Amateur Athletic Association, who says it has always been run by his body. This year, the hundred miles N.Z. Amateur Championship, will be run in conjunction with the road race and will be open only to cyclists registered with the N.Z.A.A.A.
POLO. 1 LONDON, June 26. In the polo championship cup semifinal, Ashtons, of Goulburn, defeated the Old Eetonians by 9 to 7.
