AGRICULTURAL SHOWS

BULLER CUP-WINNERS. (Per Press Association.) WESTPORT, February 14. The eighteenth annual show of the Buller and Westport A. and P. Association opened to-day. Mr. Carey Birchfield is the winner of the cattle cup, and Mr. Burley, of Buller Gorge, of the horse cup. A swimming tourney was held in the Municipal Baths this evening, the competitors including teams from H.M.S. Veronica.

PAHIATUA AWARDS. PAHIATUA, February 14. For the annual show of the Pahiatua A. and P. Association to-day, there was splendid weather, with a big crowd. A large number of the visitors frequented the adjoining Carni,val Park, a beautiful scenic area, to which numerous improvements have lately been effected. The championship awards were: — Romneys: F. W. Blatchford (Ngawapurua), ram, J. H. Mungavin (Levin), ewe. Southdowns: Ram, A. Wheeler (Marton); ewe, H. D. Lovell (Woodville). Cattle: Jerseys: Bull, Mrs I. W. Spiers (Levin); cow, J. Murray (Woodville); dairy cow, F. Jennings (Mauriceville). The most points in dairy cattle were won by T. A. B. Sinclair (Woodville). Open Hunters’ Competition: O. Nelson 1, Mrs A. W. Parsons 2, Mrs A. J. Rutherford 3. Maiden Hunters: Desmond Kennedy 1, G. H. James 2, R. J. Walters’3. Ladies’ Hunters: O. Nelson 1, Mrs A. W. Parsons 2, Miss G Twist 3. P. A. Bisset 1, L. V.
