BEAUTIFUL BLONDE

THEFT OF EMBASSY CODE MELODRAMATIC ADVENTURES (Australian Press Assn.) (By Cable—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Recd. Oct. 26, 9.30 a.m.) ' LONDON, October 25. The beautiful blonde who is concerned in the disappearance of the secret code from the Italian Embassy in Berlin has just paid a dramatic visit to London, says the “Daily Chronicle. ’ ’

She is a native of Jugo-Slavia, and arrived in Berlin early in the Spring. She rented a luxurious flat and became acquainted with one of the secretaries of the Italian Embassy, and it was soon evident that he was paying marked attention to her. She several times visited him in the room in which there was the safe containing the code. Suddenly jthe secretary disappeared. He was recalled to Rome, secretly was tried and exiled to an island, whence he is unable to communicate with his relations or friends. Meantime, the Italian Government, wishing to avoid publicity, did not complain to the Berlin police, but they had the fair Jugo-Slavian watched. Something must have .aroused her suspicions, for she went to Paris .in August, thence again fearing Italian secret agents would have revenge, she hurriedly went to London, arriving on Wednesday, accompanied by a tall, dark man. With her companion she occupied a suite at an hotel, and within a few hours a Scotland Yard man visited her.

What transpired is not known, but the blonde settled the bill, and the little party caught the Dieppe boattrain from Victoria.
