(Reed. Sept. 28, 11.50 a.m.) LONDON, September 27. When Harold Duncan, aged 32, was charged at Manchester with theft of money, the police alleged that Duncan by altering a joint account cheque robbed his partner of £278 and disap peared.
It was discovered that he had sailed by the Ormonde on May 25 for Australia, and he was arrested at Colombo. He forced the cabin door when he arrived at Port Said, and hired a motor and travelled to Cairo by a desert road. He was arrested at Cairo, and remanded.
