Inspecting the farewell parade of the British Volunteer Police, the High Commissioner (Sir J. Chancellor) said that Palestine would not forget their services. The British police, backed up by the Volunteer Special Police, had saved the country at the worst from disaster, and the best from a prolongation of the disturbances.

JERUSALEM, September 26.

Nearly six hundred rioters were sentenced to terms of imprisonment ranging from two months to two years. Some were committed to the assizes on capital charges.
