Three members of one family were found dead to-day as the result of inhalation of methyl-chloride fumes from a mechanical refrigerator in their apartment. Altogether a score of deaths which have occurred I’ccently during the heat wave have been charged to similar incidents, in the operations of various makes of refrigerators now so - popular in big city apartment houses. Following to-day’s tragedy; - the Health Commissioner issued an order banning methyl-chloride as a refrigerant, which will mean the temporary non-usage of thousands of refrigera : tors. In this particular case Joseph ' Painter, his wife and son, evidently felt ill before retiring, and were conscious for some time, but were too weak to rise and obtain ventilation. AGED COUPLE BURNED.
