GREYMOUTH LADIES’ BRANCH On Saturday, the qualifying round of the Junior Championship was played, together with a medal match. Following were the members to qualify: — Miss Kilgour 64, handicap 15—49. Miss Cullen G9 —17 —52. Miss Doogan GG —9 —55. Miss Tennent 57—1—5 G. Miss Higgins 63 —7 —5 G. Miss Pratt 63—2—61. Mrs. Warnes 71 —6 —65. Miss Noonan 89 —16 —73. The medal match was won by Miss Kilgour. The following is the order of play: — Miss Tennent plays Miss Noonan. Miss Kilgour plays Miss Doogan. Miss Higgins plays Miss Cullen. Miss Pratt plays Mrs. Warnes. Match to be over 13 holes starting at No. 14. Final over 18 holes. In event of players being all square at 13th which is really No. 8, they must start at 14th again to decide the winner. The Ist round to be finished by Tuesday October 9. Players to arrange their own scorers. LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. AUCKLAND, September 30. The outstanding feature of yesterday’s matches at ' the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Championship was the championship game between Mrs Hosking and Mrs the original game being won by Mrs Hosking 3 and 2. At the ninth Mrs Weston grounded her club in a bunker, as. allowed by the local rule permitting players to ground on any part of the course covered with a- permanent sole of grass. The umpire disqualified Mrs Weston, who was forced to give up tho hole. At the end of the round, she entered, a protest, which was upheld by the Committee, and the match was replayed in the afternoon. ’rhe former result was then reversed, Mrs Weston winning 3 and 1. A bogey handicap match played in the afternoon resulted in a win for Mrs Guy Williams, who finished one up with a round of 79.
