SALKS LICENSE CANCELLED

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 13. At Upper Hutt this morning, before Mr Salmon, S.M., a’ dairy farmer, L. Scholes, for 'failing to clean his milking machines, was fined £25. This being his second conviction, his license to sell milk to retailers is automatically cancelled. The Inspector said that Scholes had made no attempt to improve matters. The defence was that the manager was in charge during the defendant’s absence. To the statement, that, if his license were cancelled defendant would probably end in bankruptcy, the Ifisp’ector said the Department would grant a fresh license to a capable manager, but not to Scholes, whose methods were a menace to the public health.
