A good programme of songs, recitations, choruses and other musical items was heartily applauded. The proceeds from the concert will be devoted to the children’s Christmas Tree. Miss Betty Callanan, whose name was omitted from the peport which appeared in Tuesday’s issue, gave two items, her singing being heartily applauded. The Liverpool mines were laid idle yesterday owing to a slip occurring above the back shunt. Mro. T. Storie, who has been spending a holiday in Christchurch, will return by to-day’s express. The Power Board has recommended the work of erecting poles and the linking up of tile electric current to the houses. Another week pr so should see the scheme completed here.
