WEST COAST RUGBY UNION. The West Coast Rugby Union met last evening. Present: Messrs T. O’Donnell (chair), Dunford, Heffernan, Brirable, Wilson, Beaumont, Fairbairn, McKay, Jones and Capt. Cox (secretary.) The N.Z. Union notified that Steel and Russell are to proceed to-morrow to Christchurch in connection with the Inter-Island match on Saturday. The N.Z. Union also wrote confirming the date of tho South African match at Greymouth. It was decided to accept Buller Union’s proposal to play the first rep. match at Westport on July 16, and that all other arrangements ro Marlborough and a return ihatch with Buller be held in abeyance meantime, till a representative of this Union confers at Westport with Buller Union on July 16. It was decided to leave over till tho same conference the matter of a junior rep. match, Buller v. West Coast, as a “curtain raiser” to the Springboks’ fixture. It was resolved that the Union challenge for the Seddon Shield on July Ist and suggest August 6th as the date for the match. It was decided that the contests for tho McKec.hnie Cup be played in two rounds, the teams nominated being Stars, Diarist and United Seniors. It was resolved that the next Grey v. Inangahua match at Reefton, be a Dittman Shield match. T. Mclntosh was appointed captain of the Grey Reps. and Mr. J. Heffernan manager. The following team was selected.

Goodall, King, Brosnahan, O’Callaghan, Nelson, Ryan, Walton, T. McIntosh, Bowman, Deere, Dlouatt, Hall, E. King, Dlcßrearty, DlcEnaney. Emer: Wallis.

The Dlawhera Hockey Club wrote asking to put lines on the ground, but it was decided that permission could not be given for lines to be made on the playing area, as they would interfere with play. A letter from Dlark Sprot and Co. Gated that the Irving Cup had been procured and their firm had been deputed to forward it, which would be done as soon as possible. It was decided to ask the Railway Department for special train and excursion fares for the South African match on July 27th. In regard to a protest from Cobden against a player in a junior match last Saturday on tho grounds of his being allegedly a senior, it was decided to ask the Buller Union for particulars as to the player in question.

The Secretary and Dlr. Wilson were deputed to confer with the Park authorities to-day on the Park in regard to alterations to the plartng area. It was decided to adopt a suggestion by Hie Entertainment Committee to hold a concert at a later date to raise funds for sending a team to bring back the Seddon Shield. The committee was empowered to make all arrangements and secure outside assistance. It was decided to defer till next meeting the matter of entertaining the Springboks during their stay h ere - ].t was decided to give the Fourth Grade teams permission to play a rep. camo at Hokitika, provided the manager appointed had the Unions approval.

INANGAHUA TEAM. (From our Correspondent.) REEFTON, This Day. The Inangahua team in Cue’ Dittman Shield match will be Nightingale, Robertson, R- Powerly, Guthrice, Osborne, Hands, Meharry, Lawry, latteison, Ryan, O’Regan, Hindmarsh, Banks, Wylie, and Dawson (wing). Emergencies: Prebble and T. Roberts. Those unable to play are requested to notify the secretary at once. SOUTH ISLAND TEADI. , DUNEDIN, This Day. Cabot takes Baird’s place as wing forward in the South Island team, and Scott of Tiniaru fills the gap in the forwards, owing to the inability of Turnbull to play.
