LATE MR ROBINSON

FUNERAL TO-DAY. The funeral of the late Air. G. H. Robinson took place this afternoon, the large attendance testifyirig to the esteen in winch the deceased was widely held. Cut off in tho prime of manhood, his death came as a great shock to the community, and his loss will be deeply deplored. He moved that a letter of condolence from the graziers, butchers and others present be sent to the Robinson family expressing their deep sympathy irf the. very great loss sustained by them. In supporting the motion, Mr A\. Jeffries expressed his deep regret at the death of Mr Robinson, of whom the family name had long been associated with tho predecessors of his firm. Ihe late Mr Henry Leslie Robinson succeeded principal many years ago to the late Air Mark Sprot, and it was probably within the memory of a great many present the wide business influence exercised in this district by that gentleman. The deceased had followed in the footsteps of his father, and up to a very recent date had been associated with the late firm both here and in Greymouth. Of a remarkably cheerful disposition, the late Mr Robinson was probably better known throughout the West Coast than any other person engaged in stock dealing. Deep sympathy will be expressed throughout the Coast for Mrs Robinson and family. Mr Donnelly, speaking on behalf of his firm at Greymouth, briefly voiced the feelings of his principals at the untimely end of Mr Robinson. The speaker had been in close connection with him for a I considerable time, and it would be ad- ! mitted by all that he was a keen business man, and though he could drive a hard bargain he was always willing to meet his clients half way, and his loss would be very generally deplored. The motion was carried in silence, all those present uncovering. Mr Houston undertook to convey the resolution to the Robinson family.
