PECULIAR ACCIDENT
MOTOR RUNS UNTO WINDOW. DUNEDIN, August 25. The loud crash of a large plate glass window being shattered to pieces was the se.mil of a peculiar and novel accident that occurred in Princes Street this morning. Mr G. J. Clark, a taxi-driver, had driven a lady to Mr Cooper's, a dentist at the corner of Manse and Princes streets, and had left his car standing outside whlie he helped the lady up the stairs. Aided by the wind and the slight incline of Princes* Street," the car moved across the road, and, missing the verandali posts in some extraordinary way, crossed the kerbing and ran head on into the window of the Dunedin Drapery Supply Company, owned by.Mr H. Simons. Roth front and side portions of the -window were shattered into small pieces. The total cost of the damage is between £l2O and £l5O. Strange to relate, the car escaped almost intact, only the front mudguards being bent. ~ . ,
