In u private letter Mr Upjohn wrote that at Totara (Otago) Miss McDonald has just finished _ installin'*’ a- crusher and pulveriser and runs two successful kilns. He found the manager at Hunhack (North Otago) very obliging from Avhom he secured much valuable information- At Hunback three kilns are working, one having an output of 30 tons a day- The gas kiln was idle for want of men and cannot 'Pope with orders.
