CLEMENT WRAGGE.

Mr Clement Wragge gave his second ant! final lecture in the Town Hall, last night. The subject, “The Weather and Local Climate Forecasting,” was an exceptionally appropriate one, but the heavy rain deterred people from venturing out ot their homes and the consequence was that the attendance was poor. Those present however, spent a very instructive couple of hours while Mr Wragge explained the methods by which the various forecasts are arrived at. The lecturer explained the important factor that the ether played in meteorological forecasts. Mr Wragge stated that the present severe weather was title to violent disturbances on the sun. The lecturer pointed out the importance of accurate local forecasts to the farming community. A number of excellent slides were shown and Mr Wragge made use of a number of diagrams to illustrate his meaning. At the conclusion of the lecture many of the audience remained to inspect the specimens of radium.
