A conference of local bodice’ representatives and farmer* will ho held in the Greymouth Borough Council Chambers to night for the purpose of considering the establishment of lime works on the West Coast. As the matter- is one ■of great importance to the district it is* hoped that all interested will .attend. Mr. H. Smithers who will be taking up his residence in Fielding, offers for private sale the whole of his household furniture and effects, including • piano, sideboard, chesterfield; also .three shares in the Grey Cobden Building Society. The furniture is on view at any hour of the day.
The annual picnic of the Greymouth Waterside Workers will take place in Cuss Square, Hokitika, to-morrow, tho train leaving Greymouth at 9.35 a.in. Hot- water, tea, sugar and milk will be supplied free and a capital- programme of sports, games, etc., has been arranged. Further particulars are advertised.
