CITIZENS' BAND BENEFIT

In addition to the star picture, “The Christian,” the Kohinoor Entertainers will assist in making the show a success, including Mr Beresford, Miss Potts, Miss Ashton, Mr A. King, Mr S. J. Skinner on banjo selections, Mr Mackay and the Misses Salt. , Mr Beresford will sing a new topical song entitled, “We must go to Lhurch on Sunday”—words by G. Watchmaker, music by E. Iron, cello obligato by J. Timepiece. Tn addition a gold specimen will be given to the lucky number. “THE CHRISTIAN.” Although the Citizens Band are giving prominence to the picture based on Hall Caine’s work, “The Christian,” to be screened at the Town Hall on Friday next, it must not be surmised that this will be the only film shown. Supporting the star attraction, an excellent series of the latest ptod actions has been secured by Mr Breamer, and these will also be presented. As the band are making this effort with the laudable intention of improving their status by the purchase of further instruments, it is to be hoped that the public will show their sympathy by attending in record numbers. Already a large number of tickets have been disposed of, and it would be very satisfactory indeed to know that sufficient had been sold to completely fill the hall. Prior to the opening of the. picture programme, the band will render selections inside the hall.
