BUSINESS ANNOUNCEMENTS.
The Railway Department advertise that the closing of Totara Flat and the opening of Ikamatua as an officered station is postponed. Mr Pollard announces by advertisement a special production on Sunday evening next of the Edison picture, “Lead, Kindly Light.” Mr M. J. Fogarty, receiver for Moynihan & Co., requests all accounts against the firm to be rendered in detail immediately, in order to wind up the partnership. Skaters are reminded that the Star Hall opens for skating to-night •, .30 p.m. The entrance in William street is now accessible by air asphalt path, and patrons will find the floor second to none on the coast.
The members of the St. John Ambulance Society are endeavouring to form an extra first-aid class, a meeting for which has been called to-morrow evening at 7.30 in the Society’s rooms, Town Hall. It is to be hoped that all those interested will attend.
The benefit dance to be held at Kokiri to-morrow night promises to be a big success. The object is a very deserving one, and tickets are being sold in large numbers throughout the district. The music for the dance will be supplied by Miss Watson and Mr Campbell, and everything is in apple-pie order for an excellent night’s amusement.
