SCOTTISH DEVOLUTION

LONDON, March 23. A deputation from the Scottish National Committee, waited yesterday on the Prime Minister, Mr Asquith, in favour of Scottish self-government. They urged the early concession of complete devolution to Scotland. Mr Asquith replied that he was Lilly conscious of the growing difficulty r,i Scottish; affairs receiving proper consideration at Westminister, Irish Home Rule, he said, was part of a fuller scheme of devolution
Later.—Mr Asquith, replying to a question, said that the Government’s Horae Rule Bill had not been divulged to any member of the Nationalist party. HOME RULE RESISTED. Received this day at 9.35 a.in. LONDON, March 23.—The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland has received promises of support of men, money and arms from the grand lodges of Canada, United States, Australia and New Zealand to resist Home Rule. THE VISITING NATIONALISTS. WELLINGTON, This Day. Advices have been received here from London from Mr John Redmond, leader of the Irish Nationalist party, that the Irish party of delegates will arrive in Wellington by the steamer Rotorua due on May Ist. It is understood that the New Zealand campaign »vill be limited to twelve meetings.
