At the inquest on the boxer Jacobson, a verdict of accidental death was returned. The medical evidence stated that though a fall was the direct cause of death deceased was in an unhealthy condition and totally unfit for a boxing contest. The result of the incident has been that the ’dium has decided that a strict examination of contestants shall take place prior to boxing contests. WAIUTA SPORTS. Athletes, axemen and others are notified that their nominations for the various events to be competed for at Waiuta on Friday, April 14th, must be sent in to Mr. A. Saraty, the honorary secretary,. not later than Saturday next, the 25th inst. The programme, which is prepared on a most liberal scale, appears in another column.
