BACHELORS' BALL.

A BRILLIANT GATHERING AT BLGKBALL. (From Our Own Corespondent.) The bachelors ball, which will certainly rank as one of the leading events in Blackball took place, on Wednesday evening in Mr. M. Stevens's hall. The hall was packed with enthusiastic dancers, while the gallery and even available corner was Idled with sightseers. Everything from start to finish went with a hearty swing and from the beginning not a single hitch occurred to mar the harmony of the evening. The hall was tastefully decorated by Mr and Mrs Jas. Sneddon and (oo much praise cannot be given for the able manner in which their pari was carried out. A more pretty sight it would be hani to imagine. Ferns, evergreens. Hags, ehinese lanterns, etc. eompletly covered the hall. During the evening songs were given by several of Ihe ladies and gentlemen present. At twelve o'clock supper was announced and great credit is due to the ladies committee for the excellent, way (hey carried out the arrangements. The fruit was supplied Ivy Mr. M.
