Four Matamafa. men, had as ma.ny as 12 fish on their lines during one day, and caught four. The party left Alereury Bay- on Saturday-. They hooked three fish straight off on the ‘Meircury Bay bank, hut lost two. through the gear breaking. Another was landed off fhe bank, while a. fourth was caught five' miles from Alderman Islands-: The members of the party estimate that they saw, between, 40 and 50 swordfish under their boat a.t one time . In fhe, clear water they could see the fish taking .the bait. As one fisherman put it, “they looked like a drove of zebras.”
